Try adding a slightly brighter colour to the centre of the lips to help create a more 3D effect, but keep it subtle and be sure to blend it well.

Taking bright colour outside the natural lipline looks fake. If your lips are unbalanced, use a neutral-toned lip pencil to even them out. Buff the colour on using small strokes. Start inside the lip then gradually push the boundary out slightly. Don’t go too far beyond the natural colour, just boost it slightly in any uneven areas and never go higher on the Cupid’s bow.
